More New Homes Permitted in Murfreesboro and 39.4% Job Growth Forcasted

Murfreesboro Environmental Engineer Sam Huddleston told WGNS that new home growth continues in the city limits.

Huddleston said that Murfreesboro issued 113 permits for single family detached homes in March (2016). Of that number, 85 new single family homes were permitted in the Overall Creek and Scales Elementary school zones. Both Overall Creek and Scales are city operated schools.

A Highlight of Some of the Numbers:

Reports indicate that 46 lots were permitted in Barfield Downs sections one and two and 34 lots were permitted in the Belle Haven subdivision.

Barfield Downs is a neighborhood with homes in the upper $200,000 price range to figures as high as $300,000. The neighborhood is located along Barfield Road. The area is zoned for all county schools which include Barfield Elementary, Rockvale Middle and Riverdale High Schools.

Once new homes are built in the Belle Haven area, the homes will likely be priced between $220,000 and $340,000. Belle Haven is zoned for Murfreesboro operated Scales Elementary and county operated Rockvale Elementary Schools. It is also zoned for Rockvale Middle and Riverdale High Schools, both under the guidance of Rutherford County Schools. Belle Haven is in the area of Highway 99 and Veterans Parkway.

According to Sperling's Best Places, future job growth over the next ten years in Murfreesboro is predicted to be whopping 39.40%
