MORE: Wreck in Cason Lane Area Turns Fatal - MPD Investigating

A June 20th car accident in Murfreesboro has turned into a fatal accident. A passenger involved in the accident has since died.

The wreck occurred this past Thursday afternoon in the area of Cason Trail and River Rock Boulevard. A vehicle evidently pulled into the path of another motorist. The car then struck a third vehicle and ran off the roadway and into a yard where it eventually struck a fourth vehicle that was parked in a driveway at 1403 River Rock Boulevard. The car then ran into another yard and eventually came to rest on the side of a home.

A day after the wreck, the Medical Examiners Office contacted the Murfreesboro Police Department and advised them that Billie Frey, a 72-year old passenger in the car that initially ran into the path of an oncoming car, died from complications from her injuries in the wreck. The driver of the car that Frey was in is 68-year old JoAnn Kay Ihm. She was driving a Chevy Lumina. Ihm allegedly failed to yield.

The Fatal Accident Crash Team has now taken over the investigation into the cause of the wreck.
