The move is underway for Murfreesboro Police. The weeks long process of moving from their South Church Street headquarters to their new state of the art facility on Highland Avenue is underway. Moving trucks have been in and out of the facility.

Chief Michael Bowen tells NewsRadio WGNS it will take some time to move everything under one roof:

The City acquired the former Murfreesboro Medical Clinic (MMC) and acres located at 1004 Highland Avenue in December 2013 for $4.7 million.

The relocation of the Police Department to Highland Avenue provides both interior and exterior space for expansion in a growing city and interjects new life to the area after the hospital and medical clinic relocated to the Gateway.
