While on patrol, a Murfreesboro Police officer spotted a wallet lying in the middle of a street. He checked the contents and went to the address on a card in the billfold. A red pickup truck with smashed windows was in the driveway at the Azure Way home. Police knocked on the door to return the wallet, and had to inform the residents that their vehicle had been vandalized.

A Central Valley Road resident called police to report a home burglary. Jewelry appears to have been the target. Once the missing items to tallied, the value was approximately $3,500.

And an Islington Court resident reported their 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe was taken. Once police took the report, the person decided to drive around and they found the vehicle in their neighborhood.

In another incident, an Avington Court resident called police to investigate a car break-in. The vehicle was reportedly locked, and burglars took a 9-millimeter Kel-Tec PF-9 handgun. Pawn shop employees should note that the pistol's handle has a wrap-around after-market grip.

In other news, a local market cashed a $529.74 paycheck from a franchise McMinnville fast-food restaurant. It was returned marked "fraudulent".

And divorces often bring out the worst in some people. A downtown business owner called police to report vandalism. The computer cords to an office system had been slashed.

We close with something positive: someone was enjoying walking the trails around the Walter Hill Dam. They spotted a blue card case in the middle of the path. Police were notified of the "find". Several unused gift cards were inside, and the owner was thrilled when she was notified.
