Clapping, cheering, streamers and confetti filled the parking lot at Middle Tennessee Christian School Tuesday as the school hosted a cap and gown drive thru for their 59 seniors. While maintaining appropriate distancing, the administration, faculty, and staff created a memorable moment for the Class of 2020. Students received their cap and gown, senior sports banners, and a famous favorite treat- peanut butter balls made by MTCS teacher Karen Lonis. Assistant Principal Nicole Hurt said,"It was so wonderful to see our seniors as they came to pick up their caps and gowns! We have missed seeing them and loved being able to cheer for them and make each one feel special as they drove up. The cap and down drive thru was a perfect follow-up to our secret mission placing yard signs Monday night and allowed us to show our seniors how much we love them!" As she mentioned, Tuesday morning MTCS seniors woke up to find a personalized sign in their yard that had been placed there Monday night by faculty and staff.

Traditional senior activities have also been rescheduled. Baccalaureate is scheduled for June 5th and Graduation is set for June 6th, with alternative dates in July if necessary. "We are committed to having these important moments of celebration in person if at all possible. We want to honor our seniors and their time here, while honoring God in the process." says Matt Tiller, MTCS President.
