Multiple Vehicle Break-Ins in Murfreesboro Reported

There has been a rash of auto break-ins in recent days. At least three cars were broken into on North Maple Street. In those cases, the only items stolen were tennis shoes, a checkbook and $5 in cash. Despite the value of the theft, the damage to the cars in question was quite significant. All three cars had at least one window shattered by a brick.

In several other auto burglary cases around the Riverdale High School area of Murfreesboro, thieves stole a laptop, iPod and a GPS unit. In one of the many cases, the burglar made their way into a Honda Civic by crawling through an open sunroof.

So far, an arrest has not been made. Police Sgt. Kyle Evans has reminded listeners in the past to no leave valuables in plain view after parking your vehicle.
