Four Coffee County men have been indicted in connection with the murder of a Cowan man.

The body of Corey Matthews was found in a field next to Jackson Cemetery in Cowan on March 24. Investigators said it was a specific and targeted crime related to Matthew’s affiliation with a white supremacist organization.

Investigators said Matthews and all four suspects are members of Aryan Nation. Authorities previously said that Matthews died due to extreme head trauma.

The Grand Jury returned indictments for first degree and felony murder against 39-year-old Todd Dalton, 26-year-old John Lanier, 46-year-old David Jenkins, and 25-year-old Coty Holmes.

Dalton and Lanier were taken into custody and booked into the Franklin County Jail without bond.

Authorities continue to search for Holmes and Jenkins. Investigators ask anyone with information on the whereabouts of the two men to call the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office at 931-962-0123 or the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-TBI-FIND.

Dalton and Lanier are scheduled for a first appearance in Franklin County Circuit Court on April 25.
