The funds will be used for the construction of a maintenance hangar in the south terminal development area for a maintenance, repair and overhaul expansion.

Senator White noted,"As Murfreesboro continues to grow, airport infrastructure is a very important economic development tool. We are pleased these funds have been approved."

Senator Reeves said, "This airport is very important to Murfreesboro, and I am glad these funds will be available to help with improvements. "I am hopeful that we will continue to see many more grants coming into Murfreesboro in the future."

Only eight airports in the state received funding during this round of grants.

Tennessee's aerospace sector has a rich combination of research assets, capital investment opportunities, advanced manufacturing expertise, accessibility to educational resources, and workforce capacity. The Aeronautics Economic Development fund provides an excellent opportunity for new or expanding aerospace programs.
