New Murfreesboro Electric General Manager P. D. Mynatt told WGNS that more space is needed for the growing electric department. Currently, the Murfreesboro Electric offices are at the corner of College Street and North Walnut Street.

If Murfreesboro Electric builds on a new site, it could allow for growing city departments like the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Administration to make the move to the electric building, which is newer and larger than the current fire administration building.
