Theft of headphones from a Walgreen's store could land you behind bars, if you are also accused of hitting a car while you are driving out of the parking lot.

42 Year old Joey Ensign was arrested after he reportedly struck another vehicle and then left the area. Police say the man whose car Ensign is accused of hitting followed him while on the phone with dispatch. The victim was able to write down the subject's license plate number which led police to Ensign.

Once at the home of Ensign, police saw the suspect vehicle with the license plate sitting halfway under the front seat. When the officer went to the door of the home the man's mother answered while inviting police inside. Ensign evidently became irate at the presence of police and called 9-1-1. When questioned about the crash, he said that his car had been stolen. Of course, that would mean that the thief brought it back to his residence and then removed the tag. After a brief scuffle with law enforcement, Ensign was taken to jail.

The Murfreesboro man was charged with:

  • Leaving the Scene of an Accident
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Misuse of 9-1-1
  • Filing a False Report
  • Theft Under $500
  • Driving on a Suspended License

Ensign is scheduled to appear in court on March 24, 2016.
