A 30-year old man has been arrested after being involved in an accident on Thompson Lane near Medical Center Parkway Saturday night around 10:00.

When police arrived on the scene Mr. Blake Allen Carter was being treated by paramedics. Evidently, he was the driver of the Nissan truck that struck a telephone pole in front of On Target. Carter was then transported to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital where police continued their investigation.

In the emergency room responding officer D. Sanders noted in his report...

"Mr. Carter's eyes were bloodshot, his speech was slurred and he was very lethargic. Mr. Carter admitted to the use of marijuana and consuming two Xanax bars. Furthermore, a medical doctor informed me that Mr. Carter advised one of his nurses that he concealed a prescription bottle of marijuana inside his rectum. The doctor retrieved the item and I confirmed the substance inside of the prescription bottle was marijuana."

The following morning around 2 AM on Sunday, Carter was arrested and charged with his second DUI, Tampering with Evidence and Possession of marijuana.

The Murfreesboro man will appear in court in the near future.
