A 31-year old Murfreesboro man has been apprehended after his involvement in an injury crash that was reported to have occurred Tuesday night. Phoutthasa Ontha allegedly wrecked on Old Fort Parkway at Cason Lane and then fled the scene. The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office spotted the vehicle and pursued it towards Old Fort Parkway at St. Andrews Drive. Ontha reportedly ran a red light and struck a second vehicle. The suspect later headed towards I-24. The Sheriff’s Department gave chase and caught up with the driver on Waldron Road where he finally pulled over in LaVergne.

Sheriff Deputies placed Ontha under arrest and determined that he appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. As a result, he was charged with his 3rd DUI and evading arrest in a motor vehicle. Murfreesboro Police also charged the Brookhill Drive man with “Leaving the scene of an Injury Crash” and “Reckless Endangerment.” As of Thursday night, Ontha has yet to make bond. He is scheduled to appear in court this April.
