A Murfreesboro man faces charges of criminal negligence in the death of his disabled fiancee. Forty-five year old Gary Wayne Marple had charges bound over to the Rutherford County Grand Jury by Judge Lisa Eischeid Monday for possible indictment.
Murfreesboro Post writer Sam Stockard reports testimony from the court hearing revealed 40-year old Shannon Cooper was allowed to live in horrible conditions. She eventually passed away in July.
During testimony, Murfreesboro Police detective Kelvin Jones said Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services had to actually cut her mattress and move it through a window to the ambulance from the Popular Avenue home. That was because he told the court Cooper was stuck to it because of urine and feces.
Marple is being held on bond at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. We have a link to more on the story from the Murfreesboro Post at WGNSRadio.com.
