The mother of a 26 year old Murfreesboro man called emergency personnel after her son purchased and likely used a white synthetic called LEAN that he bought at a gas station.

A police report shows that the man was not acting like his normal self after the purchase. Officers say that the man had to be placed in handcuffs to transport him to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

Evidently, the man was unable to tell paramedics what was wrong. He also appeared to be agitated.

Little is known about the large number of synthetic drugs on the market designed to be sold as non-consuming products in order to avoid a myriad of laws in Tennessee.

While Lean is also the name of a dangerous drink made with codeine based prescription cough syrup, it is not known what is in the packets sold at some gas stations that are marked with the words LEAN.
