Congratulations to Murfreesboro resident Carl P. Mayfield for being named to the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame.

Carl and his wife Becky raised their family here and love the area so much they still call it home.

Mayfield is one of those rare talents who is able to take life situations, create characters to bring it to life on the radio, and get listeners laughing. It was 1966 when his career began in Columbia and has covered major markets, all the way to worldwide audiences. It even included time here in Murfreesboro at WGNS.

Here is the list of all of those who will be inducted into the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame this spring in a gala at Murfreesboro's Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center.
