City Construction Projects

Joe B Jackson Pkwy Construction Project (I-24 and S Church Street)

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm:  Bridge work continues over CSX Railroad.  Storm drain inlet installation work continues on the north and south side of Joe B Jackson Pkwy between S Church Street and Parson Road.  Grading work continues for temporary travel lane on the north and south sides between County Farm Road and S Church Street.  Public utility service connection work continues along Joe B Jackson between S Church Street and Stevens Bend Road.  There will be incidental lane closures and traffic interruptions.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Overall Creek Elementary School Roadway Project (Veterans Pkwy at Mooreland Lane)

Expected Road Closures:  September 3^rd 2013 through June 21^st 2014:  Mooreland Lane at Veterans Pkwy closed in preparation for the new roadway construction and utility work.  All traffic to and from Veterans Pkwy and Mooreland Lane will be detoured through State Route 96 and Rucker Lane.  Proper traffic controls will be in place.

Veterans Pkwy aka Kimbro Road Widening Project (Barfield Road to Saint Andrews Drive)

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday:  6:30 am to 4:30 pm:  Utility and grading work continues along Veterans Pkwy.  Box culvert construction work continues near Valley View Subdivision.  Storm drain installation continues between Saint Andrews Dr. and Cason Lane.  There will be incidental lane closures and traffic interruptions (trucks entering and exiting the job site). Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Southwest Force Main Project (W College Street/Old Nashville Highway)

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday:  Contractor for Water &Sewer Department will be installing force sewer main lines W College St/Old Nashville Highway near Thompson Lane.  W College Street/Old Nashville Highway will be reduced to one lane with flagging operation.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

S Church Street Sidewalk Repair/Upgrade Project

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm:  Incidental sidewalk repair work continuous along S Church Street between CSX Bridge and Broad Street.  Work entails removing and replacing existing damaged concrete sidewalk.  There will be minor lane closures and traffic interruptions on the northbound lanes of S Church Street.  Southbound traffic will not be affected.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project

Expected Lane Closures:  Thursday through Saturday, 8:00 pm to 5:00 am:  There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street and W College Street in order to prepare for roadway construction.  There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Murfreesboro Electric New Sub-Station Project (Rutherford Blvd just north of MTSU Blvd)

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm:  As part of new sub-station, the contractor for Murfreesboro Electric Department will be working on the utility poles along Rutherford Blvd between MTSU Blvd and Greenland Drive.  There will be alternating lane closures on Rutherford Blvd northbound and southbound during this work.  Traffic will be reduced from two lanes to one lane each direction.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

MTSU Intersection Improvement Project (Greenland Drive at Blue Raider Drive)

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 2:30 pm:  The contractor for MTSU will be making intersection improvements at the southeast corner of Greenland Dr. and Blue Raider Dr.  There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Turn Lane Improvement Project (just north of NW Broad Street and Florence Road)

Expected Road Closures:  Wednesday through Friday: 8:30 am to 3:00 pm: Construction crews will be constructing a left turn lane on NW Broad Street just north of Florence Road.  There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions on NW Broad Street.  Appropriate traffic controls and will be in place.

Old Salem Road CSX Crossing Track Work

Expected Lane Closures:  April 5 - 7:   Old Salem Road will be closed at the CSX railroad crossing for track and pavement work.  Traffic on Old Salem Road will be detoured onto Kings Highway and onto Front Street.  CSX will be responsible for appropriate traffic controls.

Milling and Re-paving work on New Salem Highway at Warrior Drive

Expected Lane Closures:  Tuesday through Friday:   9:00 am to 2:00 pm: As part of the Speedway project, New Salem Highway will be milled and re-paved just south of Warrior Drive.  There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions on New Salem Highway.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
