Have you wondered what are those brown boxes that are attached to many utility poles in Murfreesboro? Mayor Shane McFarland explained what they will do . . .


He noted that it works with all cell service providers.

Those brown boxes are midway up the utility poles, and there is an antenna at the top of the pole that resembles a bucket. Reports indicate that when operational, the signal strength to your cell phones should increase both inside your home and other structures, as well as while traveling.


WGNS News' Bart Walker asked the mayor if this would bring 5G ultra wide-band cell phone service to Murfreesboro . . .
