Thursday, May 4th is the National Day of Prayer.

An hour of prayer will take place in Murfreesboro on Thursday (5/4/17) at World Outreach Church. The event, which is put together by World Outreach and Greenhouse Ministries, will be between 12 noon and 1:00 on Thursday.

World Outreach told WGNS that a lite lunch will be served after the event. You do not need to RSVP ahead of time.

This year, there will not be a prayer breakfast as in years past. Julie Young with Greenhouse Ministries said that a location that holds 600+ people could not be reserved this year in Murfreesboro, which is why Greenhouse is partnering with World Outreach for the hour of prayer on Thursday.

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
