Members of the Oakton and Blackman community said they believe the project will negatively impact them and asked the council for amendments towards the construction. NewsRadioWGNS' Jackson Jones has more....

We spoke with Oakton and Blackman Meadows spokesman Virginia Griffiths about what she took away from the meeting.

Other concerns range from no additional turnarounds for buses, setting back the property line by 30 feet, keeping the existing tree line in-tact, and over-development in the area.

Councilman Ron Washington asked Landscape Architect Robert Molchan, "Did you or your parties attempt to meet with these people?"

Molchan responded, "No."

Councilman Doug Young moved to defer the rezoning until the applicants meet with residents to show them what they're doing and not just say what they're doing.
