More changes in the Murfreesboro City Schools… Christa Campbell has been named the Assistant Principal at Cason Lane Academy. Director of Schools Dr. Linda Gilbert and Principal Lee Wilkerson announced the appointment Thursday. Campbell will replace Ms. Cheryl Baxter who retires at the end of December after 27 years with Murfreesboro City Schools.

Campbell joins MCS from the Rutherford County School District, currently serving as an educator at McFadden School of Excellence. Campbell has taught since 1993 receiving numerous grants, accolades and honors. Campbell is a MTSU alumnus receiving her Masters and Bachelors in Education from the university. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of education in Assessment, Learning and School Improvement. Campbell was named as 2013 Tennessee Environmental Educator of the Year for bringing hands on learning and science opportunities to her students. Additionally, Campbell was named as school site Teacher of the Year in 1996, 2001 and 2004.
