New Law Banning Tanning Bed Use for Under 16

Governor Haslam has signed a bill banning anyone under 16 from using a tanning bed in Tennessee.

In addition, anyone between the ages of 16 and 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to use a tanning bed.

Parents must also sign a warning statement saying they understand the risks associated with tanning devices.

Under current Tennessee law, even children under 14 can use a tanning bed if they're accompanied by a parent who signs a warning statement.
