Terry Schneider, a long-time Murfreesboro resident, female small business owner, and active member of the community, announced today she will be a candidate for Murfreesboro City Council in the upcoming August 2nd election.

"I am pleased and honored to officially announce my candidacy for Murfreesboro City Council. Murfreesboro is my home and I care passionately about the future of our growing City. I look forward to using the lessons I have learned as a successful business owner to help our city grow responsibly. I am focusing on three things: families, infrastructure, and jobs."

"One of the things I love about Murfreesboro is how we put families first. As a Candidate for City Council, I want to focus on making Murfreesboro a safe place for our children. They should have the best educational opportunities beginning at a young age. Additionally, I see the cost of living for our families continue to be on the rise. I believe our City should be able to compete on a National level to attract the best jobs. MTSU has the largest undergraduate enrollment of any of our State Universities; this should be a magnate for corporations looking for a skilled work force."

Terry is the owner of FASTSIGNS, a local sign and graphics business she opened in 2009. She and her husband Bob, have two children, Bobby (15) and Cameran (13). Additionally, she remains involved in the community by serving on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties, the American Red Cross Heart of TN, and Leadership Rutherford- Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. She was named the 2013-2014 Jeff Hendrix Business Person of the Year by the Blue Raider Athletic Association. She believes this private sector and community experience provides a valuable perspective for a City Council candidate.
