After an extensive search, Middle Tennessee Christian School President Matt Tiller announced that LaVergne High School Assistant Principal Dr. Robert Sain will become the private Christian school's new Secondary School Principal.

"The search committee considered more than a dozen candidates throughout the process and we were thrilled to offer Dr. Sain, a respected and accomplished academic administrator, a role in the future of MTCS," said Tiller in a statement.

As Secondary School Principal, Sain will lead the school's 7th through 12th grade campus, and oversee 30 teachers and 330 students.

"I am excited that Middle Tennessee Christian School has selected me to join their leadership team," Sain said in a joint email to the MTCS family. "As sad as I am to leave the wonderful students, teachers and administrators at Lavergne High School, I am equally as happy to be joining MTCS, a school poised to become the premier private Christian educational institution in Middle Tennessee."

"Our commitment to excellence has resulted in significant growth in enrollment at the Secondary School the last several years," explained Tiller. "Dr. Sain's leadership skills and past accomplishments will help continue this positive momentum."

Sain served as assistant principal at LaVergne High School starting in 2012. He was a successful teacher and coach for close to ten years before assuming administrative responsibilities as principal at West Side School in Cannon County from 2008-2012. He earned his undergraduate degree from Lipscomb University, Master's from Union University in Jackson, Tenn, Ed.S. from Tennessee Tech, and his Ed.D. from Lincoln Memorial in Harrogate, Tenn.

"I hope to use the experience I've gained over the last 8 years in school leadership in Cannon and Rutherford Counties to help Middle Tennessee Christian School continue improving student success and training them for eternity."

Charles Swift, chairman of the MTCS Board of Directors said that the board was confident in the search committee's results. "We know he will be a great addition to our administrative team."

MTCS' current Secondary principal, Todd Miller, is staying with the school, transitioning to a new position as Director of Spiritual Formation and Community Outreach.

Robert and his wife, Amy, have three daughters: Delaney, Addison, and Kendall. They are active members at North Boulevard Church of Christ, where Amy is the Children's Director.
