A South Church Street accident in Murfreesboro is being investigated by police. The crash occurred around 5AM on Monday in front of the Ramada Inn. After the driver struck the rear of the Nissan Altima being driven by Heather Johnson, the unknown motorist fled the scene.

While the car is completely totaled, Mrs. Johnson amazingly walked away unharmed. She was on her way to a local gym to exercise when her car was struck.

According to Johnson, "The officer who was the first responder told me he has been a cop for 17 years, and had NEVER seen an accident like that without serious/fatal injuries." She further suggested that her seat belt played a major role in keeping her safe.

As far as who hit her or a description of the vehicle, she did not see as it came up behind her. After being struck, she said that she sat in the middle of South Church Street for about five minutes and not one motorist stopped to help. She eventually was able to pull the car into the Ramada Inn parking lot where police quickly responded.

Again, she was not seriously injured in the hit and run accident and at this point, no arrests have been made.
