Multiple tornadoes struck Middle Tennessee after dark on November 5th and 6th and the National Weather Service sent survey teams out to access the damage.

The Christiana tornado, they report, was rated a high-end EF-2, the strongest of the seven total tornadoes. It was the strongest tornado to strike Middle Tennessee in nearly three years.

The storm traveled nearly eight-and-a-half miles and had a maximum width of 300-yards. Three injuries and one fatality resulted from the storm.

The tornado first touched down at 12:16AM nine-miles southeast of Eagleville and finally lifted eight-miles northwest of Bell Buckle. It was on the ground for 10-minutes.

The storm intensified to its maximum at the Rutherford / Bedford County line where two houses across the street from one another were damaged or destroyed on Kingdom Road, which turns into Midland Fosterville Road. A well built brick home had its roof blown off and brick walls blown in. The homeowner received only minor injuries.

The storm continued northeast to Midland Crescent Road, where it hit the home of Scott and Angie Walker. The home was flipped 90-degrees off its foundation onto its side. She didn't survive the storm's fury.

Another home on Rock Springs Road took a direct hit, losing its roof and third floor. The Erdmann home was built in the 1800's and remodeled in 2004. They were inside the home when the storm struck, but took shelter in the lowest floor and were not injured.

Two 70-foot tall silos were completely destroyed on Rock Springs Road before the tornado weakened to an EF-1 as it struck a mobile home before dissipating near Highway 231. Two injuries were reported in this mobile home.
