Oakland Boys to State Tournament; Blackman Falls Short

Oakland will begin play March 15th in the BlueCross Basketball Championships. They'll find out what time and who they play with the boys state draw Tuesday evening.

In Chattanooga, where WGNS' Bryan Barrett broadcast the Blackman game. The Blaze led all but the final 1:22 of the game and dropped a 72-68 decision at East Hamilton.

The loss ends six straight appearances in the state's final eight, including Murfreesboro's first championship in 2014. The Hurricanes shot the ball extremely well behind the arc, hitting 12 three's.

The Blaze were led in scoring by junior Brandon Thomas, who had 28 points. Their season ends with a record of 26-and-5.
