Oakland, behind one of the state's best defenses, get their first shutout of the year against city rival Blackman 22-0.

The Patriots scored with about a minute left in the first half, through the air, on this pass from junior quarterback Brevin Linnell to senior Jeron Rooks:

With a two-point conversion, Oakland led 8-0 at the break. Rooks and Linnell both had second half rushing touchdowns for the final margin of victory.

The Patriot defense held Blackman to 130 yards in total offense for the game. Blaze senior quarterback Conner Mitchell was 11-of-12 passing for 73-yards.

When the Patriot's offense was struggling to establish the run against Blackman, they used some different formations and the passing game to open things up. Oakland coach Kevin Creasy:

Oakland, at 12-and-0, will host Cookeville next Friday in the quarterfinals. State Farm Prep Playoff Football coverage will begin at 6pm, with a 7pm kickoff from Ray Hughes Stadium.
