Oakland High Did Well In Friday's "History Day" at MTSU

Students from Oakland High School competed in the Middle Tennessee Level of the National History Day competition at MTSU last Friday (2/21/2014).  Projects were the students own creation and involved complex research, investigation, and organization.

Oakland competed against such schools as Hume Fogg, Nashville International Academy, Glencliff Comprehensive High School, Battle Ground Academy, University School of Nashville, Ravenwood, and Central Magnet, among others.
 
They will be competing at the state level in April.

Kaitlin Murphy--Individual Exhibit titled "Tennessee Women in the White House"
 
Anna Gray--Individual Performance titled "Desegregation Rap"
 
Noah Saracho, Vicki Nguyen, Thomas Katchmar and Stephen Sensel--Group Performance titled "Nazi Experiments on 'Lesser Races'"
 
Isaiah Edwards--Individual Webpage titled "The One-Child Policy in China"
 
Elam Miller and Eli Leskinen--Group Documentary titled "American Athletes and The 1980 Olympic Boycott"
