Oakland High School has announced that student, Fernando Cardenas, was recognized on the floor of the Tennessee House of Representatives on February 29th for his winning artwork in the District 48 art competition. Fernando won third place, and his work will remain in the office of Murfreesboro State Rep. Bryan Terry for the rest of the year in the state Capitol.
The art program at Oakland High School offers a variety of opportunities for students to learn and create through various art courses, including honors and International Baccalaureate (IB) art classes.
