One dead in Monday night shooting in area of John Bragg Highway

One is dead following a shooting that took place at a home on Amerson Court between the John Bragg Highway and Woodbury Pike in the Murfreesboro area. The incident occurred at 11:00, Monday night.

According to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, a 29-year old man was found dead in front of the house. Reports indicate a female in her 40's was also found shot, but still alive.

On Tuesday, RCSO spokeswoman Lisa Marchesoni said one suspect has been arrested.


The female, who was believed to be the mother of the victims girlfriend, was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Her condition has not been released.

A subject who was at the home and not seriously injured was taken into custody by Sheriff Deputies.


The motive for the shooting has not been released, nor were identities.
