A shooting on Wednesday evening around 7 has LaVergne Police on the lookout for a suspect.
Authorities say that the victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment with a non-life threatening injury.
The shooter and the victim knew each other and were involved in a physical altercation which ended in the suspect producing a handgun and firing the weapon at the victim.
Sgt. Bob Hayes with the LaVergne Police Department told WGNS, "The shooter left the area with an unidentified white female in a silver Nissan vehicle, unknown model possibly headed towards the Murfreesboro area."
The alleged shooter, who has been identified as 19 year old Jason Hill, is described as a light skinned black male. He was last seen wearing a red t-shirt with white lettering on the front and dark colored sweat pants. He was armed with a dark colored handgun. He is wanted for Aggravated Assault and Reckless Endangerment.
Sgt. Hays said, "The suspect is considered to be "Armed and Dangerous". If anyone sees this suspect and / or vehicle, do not approach and please contact the LaVergne Police Department at 615-793-7744 or contact your local jurisdiction."
