Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department’s District 2 and Rescue 9 responded to the Pilot gas station located at 2441 South Church Street around 8:45 Thursday morning after receiving reports that a tractor trailer leaked 100-150 gallons of diesel fuel.

When crews arrived on scene, they were able to locate the owner/operator of the tractor trailer. He informed them that he had a small leak in his fuel tank and that it only released around five gallons of diesel fuel into the parking lot and overflow pond behind Pilot. The exact amount of fuel spilt, somewhere between 5 and 150-gallons, is not known.

Pilot has contacted their environmental cleaning crew.

In case you are curious, 150-gallons of diesel fuel ads up to nearly $600.
