The doctor went on to say that heroin is the cheapest opioid on the street, which is why addiction to heroin is on the rise.

On March 29, 2018, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released numbers showing that in 2016, drug overdoses killed 63,632 Americans. 66-Percent of those deaths involved a prescription or street opioid.
