An out of state registered sex offender told Murfreesboro Police that he is homeless. Officers located the man in question sitting in his car near Cracker Barrel on South Church Street.

The report that WGNS obtained on Friday shows that he has failed to properly register as a Sex Offender in Tennessee and his last known address was in the Orlando, Florida area. When police questioned 47-year old Derrick Alen Kent he advised he knew he was supposed to register, but did not do it.

The subject, who was originally charged with Sexual Assault in Illinois, was taken into custody and booked at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. He was released around 11:00, Friday morning.
