(MURFREESBORO) Smyrna native Ellen Meacham was the featured speaker Saturday at the Annual Friends of Linebaugh Library Author Luncheon at The Woman's Club on East College Street. She spoke about her book Delta Epiphany: Robert F. Kennedy in Mississippi.

Ellen Meacham's book describes Robert F. Kennedy's visit to the Mississippi Delta, examining the forces that shaped the lives of the children he met, and how that trip helped America to focus on issues of hunger and poverty in the United States for many years to come.

The Friends of Linebaugh president was elated with the turnout . . .

Sandra noted that the Friends of Linebaugh Library BOOK SALES are about to start again for the year. They are all on Saturday mornings from 9:00AM until noon. The 2020 schedule has February 15, March 21, April 18, May 16, June 20, Sept. 19, October 17 and November 21, 2020. All are on the P2 parking level of the garage below the library. Enter off South Church Street and drive under the library. Hardback books are $2, paperbacks for $1 (small paperbacks for 50-cents) and children's books from 50-cents to $1.
