The Patriots are the only 6A team playing this week, which is fall break for Rutherford County. They had an agreement to play Pulaski, Arkansas, week three. However, they scheduled another opponent after Coach Thomas McDaniel left for Memphis Christian Brothers.

That sent Oakland coach Kevin Creasy scrambling for another game, which they couldn't find in week three. Resigned to the fact they might only play nine regular season games, Haywood coach Steve Hoofkin called looking for a week eight game.

Haywood is 4-and-2 with a loss to undefeated Hardin County 21-20 last week. Oakland, ranked second in Class 6A, is 5-and-1 and have won five in a row. By the way, Oakland, with their win over Warren County last week, garnered its 300th win in school history. They're looking to make it 301 tonight (Friday).
