Police Reports: Strange Happenings at Funeral Homes and Fast Food Restaurants in Murfreesboro

Murfreesboro Police were not able to make an arrest, but they did record names of those involved in a bizarre incident at a local fast food eatery. On Wednesday, police responded to a restaurant on South Church Street after a worker called the authorities because three men tried using multiple gift cards to pay for their food. When one card failed to work they simply moved on to another one.

When police questioned the subjects and received permission to search the rented car they were in, they found 49 gift cards tucked away in a shoe. The men refused to tell police who owned the shoes or the gift cards. As a result, officers took the gift cards for safe keeping until someone could properly claim them.

Because officers could not determine if the gift cards were stolen, no arrests were made.

In other strange police reports that failed to yield an arrest earlier this week, officers responded to a local funeral home after several men showed up taking pictures. When a funeral director tried to get to the bottom of what was going on, one of the men told him they were foreign students from a different country and they were enrolled in classes at MTSU. By the time police arrived, the men were gone.
