Rutherford County attorney, longtime civil servant and former Naval Submariner, Kevin Hodges, announces that he will seek the Republican Party’s nomination for General Sessions Judge during the May 6, 2014 primary to unseat current General Sessions Judge Ben McFarlin.

Before seeking his law degree Hodges served as a submariner in the United States Navy for eight years. Upon leaving the military he attended Middle Tennessee State University, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and began serving the citizens of Rutherford County as a police officer, retiring as a detective.  Shortly after retiring from Smyrna Police Department, Hodges received his law degree and practices in civil, criminal, Social Security/disability and family law in Rutherford County.

For nearly two decades Hodges has served the citizens of Rutherford County. He has been an integral part of many facets of the judicial system as police officer, detective and attorney. “My hard work and dedication to the citizens of Rutherford County gives me unique insight into areas that, as a General Sessions Judge, I could impact and bring about efficiency and fiscal responsibility in this time of needing to do more with less,” Hodges says.

Hodges and his wife Annie are members of Believers Chapel in Murfreesboro.  They have three children, Christopher, an active duty combat veteran in the United States Army; Jennifer, a Middle Tennessee State University alumni, now working for Walt Disney Corporation and Meghan, who is a student in Rutherford County.  Hodges is a member of the American Legion and served as Senior Vice President of the Stones River Chapter of the Police Benevolent Association.  While attending MTSU Hodges was a student representative on the Grades Appeals Committee and served as Vice President, President Elect of Lamda Alpha Epsilon, a professional criminal justice fraternity.
