Prep football will have a much different look in Rutherford County next year. The T-Double-S-Double-A released enrollment for the state's member schools Tuesday. Those enrollment figures will be used to classify football teams for next year's new playoff system.

All of the county's large TSSAA high schools, except Stewarts Creek, would be in 6A. That means they're among the top 32 in enrollment in the state. The remaining five classes are split evenly.

Oakland, which has the largest enrollment in the county, is 14th in the top 32 schools. Blackman is 18th at 1,839. Smyrna is 26th at 1,774, Siegel 27th at 1,758. Riverdale and La Vergne come in 31 and 32 with enrollments of 1,724 and 1,723 respectfully.

Stewarts Creek would be the third largest in 5A with an enrollment of 1,691.

This in itself would split Rutherford County's largest schools into two divisions. Add to that this isn't the final classification. Smaller schools have the option to move up if schools choose to move down. Schools will have until October 22nd with the TSSAA if they're interested in doing so.

For instance, if a 5A school wanted to move up and La Vergne agreed to move down, this could further change classifications for local schools.

For the county's two smallest TSSAA schools, Eagleville will be in Class 2A, with an enrollment of 414. It will make the Eagles one of the smallest programs in the classification.

Middle Tennessee Christian would be a 1A school, with an enrollment of 385.2, making it one of the largest in Single-A.
