Over 17-thousand Smyrna homes and businesses were without power on Monday for a short time. The Middle Tennessee Electric outage map showed this just after 9am. According to a spokesman with the electric cooperative, the Tennessee Valley Authority was working on a transmission line and knocked out power to all of the area substations. Power was restored to all of those affected about 30-minutes later.
