The Primary Care and Hope Clinic recently received a grant for more than $12,000 from Susan G. Komen Greater Nashville to help fund the clinic’s “Ladies for Life” breast cancer screening and education program.

“Ladies for Life” focuses on early detection and examinations for uninsured and underserved women.  The grant provides resources for the Primary Care and Hope Clinic to distribute breast health information, provide clinical breast exams for uninsured patients and bring culturally sensitive breast health information to women in their own community.

Each year, more than 200,000 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in women and more than 2,000 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in men in the U.S.   With heightened awareness, early detection, improved treatment methods and increased access to breast health services, people have a greater chance of survival than ever before.

“We are grateful for the generous support that we receive from Komen Greater Nashville,” states Lisa Terry, Primary Care and Hope Clinic CEO.   “This grant provides the Primary Care and Hope Clinic with resources to continue our mission of serving uninsured and underserved families in our community.”
