Prostitution arrest made in Murfreesboro

A charge of "Promotion of Prostitution" has been filed against a 26-year old Murfreesboro woman. Savanah Ann Deen was arrested after police showed up at the hotel she was staying in to investigate possible drug activity. As police were arriving, a customer reportedly just left.

While on the scene of the Vista Inn & Suites off of South Church Street, police claim they recognized Deen as someone who frequently posted messages on Backpage.com.

The police officer who made the arrest described Backpage.com in the report by stating, "The website is used in the promotion of prostitution." The officer also wrote, "Ms. Deen showed me her site promotion, and I observed over $200 in cash in the microwave of the room." She also stated that she utilizes a company in California that directs her online ad to a regular website. The company then notifies her about a potential customer. "Ms. Deen stated her first customer left when we [the police] arrived," according to the report on file at the MPD. Several condoms were also found to be in her possession at the time of her arrest. One used condom was in the bathroom.

Police arrested Deen and seized he cell phone as evidence. She was charged with the promotion of prostitution, failure to appear in court and "Bondsman off bond." As of Tuesday evening, she has not made bond and remains jailed under a $13,500 bond.
