Daryl Webb of Murfreesboro and Tim and Brenda Fredericks of Indianapolis, Indiana, have something in common--a shared interest in the life and times of Burrell Gannaway of Murfreesboro.

Burrell Gannaway was one of the three original deacons of First Baptist Church on East Main Street, a City Alderman & Ranger and slave owner in the 1800s.

When he died on May 26th, 1853, he left behind 32 slaves. Recently, descendants of those slaves, Webb and the Fredericks, discovered his home and plantation still standing in the Barfield community. Both have found their interest in Burrell Gannaway and his descendents (including world famous photographer, King Daniel Ganaway) a fascinating discovery.

You can join other interested locals on Wednesday (July 20th) at First Baptist Church on East Main Street at 6pm as Webb and the Fredericks continue to put the pieces together of the Gannaway history and the far-reaching impact this story holds.
