Rainy, Windy Halloween

High winds and rain put a damper on Halloween for many. While the strong thunderstorms never materialized, severe thunderstorm warnings were issued because of high winds Thursday night. Peak wind gusts of 60 miles per hour were reported in several locations in Rutherford County. That brought down tree limbs and power lines. Outages were scattered, causing some of Murfreesboro's busiest intersections to be without traffic lights at times. It even caused an overnight power outage at the WGNS transmitter. Much calmer weather is expected for the weekend. The full WGNS Weather Eye forecast is coming up.
