The tenth fastest growing city in the U.S.A. obviously has lots of construction, and that brings challenges for 'Boro motorists. Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran warns of areas to avoid today through August 19th.

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Memorial Blvd, Old Fort Pkwy and Ridgley Road for construction of the new Overpass. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times. Broadmor Blvd is closed to through traffic for construction work. W Lytle Street at Broad St is opened to traffic and is restricted to right-in and right-out movements only. Westbound traffic has been shifted to the north side to align with the newly constructed ramp. On Broad St, the northbound and southbound left turn movements can only be made during a protected turn signal phase. Appropriate traffic controls and detours will be in-place.

Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E Main St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd is reduced to two-lanes two-way between E Main St and Greenland Dr. E Lytle St is closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd. The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd is only open to local traffic. Appropriate traffic control will be in place.

Rutherford County Judicial Center Project (between Burton St and Lytle St)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday, July 20, 2016 - August 31, 2017: As part of the Rutherford County Judicial Center construction, Burton St between Maple St and Church St will be closed to traffic to make roadway improvements. Burton St traffic will be detoured onto College St. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

W Lytle Street Roadway Improvement Project (Baker St to Church St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: W Lytle Street will be closed to through traffic between Walnut St and Front St for construction work. N Maple St between College St and Burton St and W Lytle St between N Maple St and N Front St will be closed to through traffic until end of August 31, 2017. Access driveways to local businesses will be kept open. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Maple St Alley Improvement Project (between W Main St and W Vine St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: The Maple St Alley will be closed to through traffic between W Main St and W Vine St for construction work. Deliveries to local businesses will be from Walnut St, W Vine St and Public Square. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Roadway Improvement Project (Blaze Dr between Brinkley Rd and Stover Glen)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Contractor for City of Murfreesboro will be making roadway improvements on Blaze Dr between Brinkley Rd and Stovers Glen. Work continues with minimal lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

TDOT Roadway Improvements and Signalization Project (Manchester Pike at Dalton Mankin Rd)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Work continues, the contractor for TDOT will be completing improvements on Manchester Pike at Dalton Mankin Rd. There will be minor lane shifts and traffic interruptions on Manchester Pike. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Sewer Installation Project (Manson Pike between Brookwood Ln and Rexland Pl)

Expected Road Closures: Monday through Friday: Contractor for a private development will be installing sewer lines across Manson Pike. Traffic on Manson Pike will be reduced to one lane flagging operation. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Annual City Street Paving Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM: City casting contractor will be adjusting casting at the following street:

  1. Satinwood Dr between Thompson Ln and Tanglefoot Ct.
