City Construction Projects

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project (Est Substantial Completion Dec, 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Memorial Blvd, Old Fort Pkwy and Ridgley Road for construction of the new Overpass. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. At all times, one lane will remain open in each direction. Broadmor Blvd is closed to through traffic for construction work. W Lytle Street at Broad St is opened to traffic and is restricted to right-in and right-out movements only. Westbound traffic has been shifted to the north side to align with the newly constructed ramp. On Broad St, the northbound and southbound left turn movements can only be made during a protected turn signal phase. Appropriate traffic controls and detours will be in-place.

Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E Main St) (Est Substantial Completion August, 2018)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd is reduced to two-lanes two-way between E Main St and Greenland Dr. E Lytle St is closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd. The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd is only open to local traffic. Appropriate traffic control will be in place.

Rutherford County Judicial Center Project (between Burton St and Lytle St) (Est Substantial Completion June, 2018)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday, July 20, 2016 - June 30, 2018: As part of the Rutherford County Judicial Center construction, Burton St between Maple St and Church St will be closed to traffic to make roadway improvements. Burton St traffic will be detoured onto College St. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

W Lytle Street Roadway Improvement Project (Baker St to Church St) (Est Substantial Completion Aug, 2018)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: W Lytle Street will be closed to through traffic between Walnut St and Front St for construction work. N Maple St between W Lytle St and Olive St and W Lytle St between N Maple St and N Church St will be closed to through traffic until end of September 30, 2017. Access driveways to local businesses will be kept open. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Maple St Alley Improvement Project (between W Main St and W Vine St) (Est Substantial Completion Sept, 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: The Maple St Alley will be closed to through traffic between W Main St and W Vine St for construction work. Deliveries to local businesses will be from Walnut St, W Vine St and Public Square. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Sewer Installation Project (Manson Pike between Brookwood Ln and Rexland Pl) (Est Substantial Completion Sept, 2017)

Expected Road Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for a private development will be installing sewer lines across Manson Pike. Traffic on Manson Pike will be reduced to one lane flagging operation. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Medical Center Pkwy at GreshamPark Dr Turn Lane Improvement Project (Est Substantial Completion Sept, 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 pm to 6:00 am: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be extending the eastbound left turn lane on Medical Center Pkwy at GreshamPark Dr. Eastbound traffic on Medical Center Pkwy will be reduced from two lanes to one lane. All major work will be done at night. Some incidental work will be done during the day between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place. Westbound traffic will not be affected.

Medical Center Pkwy at Gateway Blvd Signalization and Turn Lane Improvement Project (Est Substantial Completion Dec, 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be adding a westbound right turn lane on Medical Center Pkwy at Gateway Blvd. Westbound and eastbound traffic on Medical Center Pkwy at Gateway Blvd will be reduced from two lanes to one lane. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Water, Irrigation and Sewer Installation Project (W Molloy Ln at S Molloy Ln) (Est Substantial Completion Sept, 21)

Expected Road Closures: Monday through Friday: Contractor for a private development will perform water, fire and sewer extension work on S Molloy Ln. Traffic on S Molloy Ln will be reduced to one lane flagging operation. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Murfreesboro Water Resources Rehabilitation Work

  1. Sloan St between Leaf Ave and Palmer Dr - 9/11 & 9/12
  2. Rose Ave between 1118 and 1110 Rose Ave - 9/13 & 9/14
  3. Patterson Ave between 621 and 627 Patterson Ave - 9/14 & 9/15

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: The contractor for Murfreesboro Water Resources Department will be making sewer manhole repairs. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Hayes Dr at Memorial Blvd Roadway Improvement Project (Est Substantial Completion Sept, 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Sunday, September 10, 7:00 pm to 6:00 am: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be removing the raised island on Haynes Dr at Memorial Blvd. There will be lane closures and lane shifts for eastbound traffic on Haynes Dr. All work will be done at night. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place. Westbound traffic will not be affected.

Northfield Blvd at Heritage Dr Median Modification Project (Est Substantial Completion Sept, 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Sunday, September 10, 7:00 pm to 6:00 am: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be modifying the median on Northfield Blvd at Heritage Dr. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. All work will be done at night. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
