Murfreesboro Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran warns motorists that crews are busy completing projects, and there are potential hot spots to avoid now through October 8th.

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Ridgley Road and W College Street for construction of the new Overpass. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times. Broadmor Blvd is closed to through traffic for construction work. W Lytle Street at Broad St is also closed to traffic for construction work. Westbound traffic has be shifted to the south side near the newly constructed ramps on Old Fort Parkway and Memorial Blvd. Northbound traffic on Broad St at Memorial Blvd has been shifted all the way to the east side onto new pavement. Appropriate traffic controls are be in place.

W Lytle Street Roadway Improvement Project (Baker St to Church St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: W Lytle Street will be closed to through traffic between Walnut St and Maple St for construction work. On Monday, N Maple St between W Lytle St and Burton St and W Lytle St between N Maple St and N Walnut St will be also closed to traffic for three weeks. Access to local businesses will be kept open at all times. Message boards and appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Rutherford County Judicial Center Project (between Burton St and Lytle St)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday, July 20, 2016 - Friday, March 31, 2017: As part of the Rutherford County Judicial Center construction, Burton St between Maple St and Church St will be closed to traffic to make roadway improvements. Burton St traffic will be detoured onto Lytle St. There will be traffic interruptions and minor lane closures at the intersection of Maple St and Burton for steel and equipment deliveries. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E Main St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd has been shifted to the east side and reduced to two-lanes two-way between E Main St and Greenland Dr. E Lytle St is closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd. The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd is only open to local traffic. Appropriate traffic control signs and message boards will be in place.

Sewer Pump Station Project (NW Broad St at Battlefield Pkwy)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 5 pm: Contractor for Water & Sewer Department will be installing sewer lines within TDOT right-of-way/Battlefield Pkwy. A small section of Battlefield Pkwy is closed. Underground bore work continues. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Comcast Overhead Fiber Optic Installation Work (Memorial Blvd just south of Thompson Ln)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday, 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM: Comcast crews will be installing overhead fiber optic lines along Memorial Blvd just south of Thompson Ln. Southbound traffic on Memorial Blvd will be reduced from two lanes to one lane for five hundred feet. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Maple Street Alley Reconstruction Project (between W Main St and W Vine St)

Expected Lane Closures: Sunday, October 2, 6 am to Noon: W Main St between Walnut St and Maple St (Public Square) will be closed to traffic for electrical construction work. Eastbound traffic on W Main St will be detoured around the public square onto Walnut St, Vine St and Church St. Traffic detour signs and appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Annual City Street Paving Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM: City paving contractor will be raising castings, milling and paving the following streets:

1) Kedzie Dr (Osborne Ln to Jerico Rd), S. Walnut St (joint at warehouse to Castle St), Hillard Dr (Church St to S. Walnut St), Hickerson Dr (Hillard Dr to the joint at Castle St) , Cason Ln at Cason Trail, and Castle St (Highland Ave to Hancock St) - Milling work

2) Cason Ln at Cason Trail, Highland Terrace, Dow St, Alexander Blvd (north of DeJarnette Ln) - Plating and Casting work on Tuesday

3) Archer Ave, Morgan Rd, Gilbert St, Clearview Ct, Round Table Ct, Stonehedge Dr, Tides Ridge Ct, Tides Ridge Cove, Stonetrace Dr, Waywood Ct, Shady Grove Cove, and Shady Grove Dr - Paving work

There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.
