This great fall weather reminds construction crews that their seasonal clock for projects is ticking away. Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran warn Murfreesboro motorists of areas to avoid today through October 22nd.

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Ridgley Road and W College Street for construction of the new Overpass. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times. Broadmor Blvd is closed to through traffic for construction work. W Lytle Street at Broad St is also closed to traffic for construction work. Westbound traffic has be shifted to the south side near the newly constructed ramps on Old Fort Parkway and Memorial Blvd. Northbound traffic on Broad St at Memorial Blvd has been shifted all the way to the east side onto new pavement. Appropriate traffic controls are be in place.

W Lytle Street Roadway Improvement Project (Baker St to Church St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: W Lytle Street will be closed to through traffic between Walnut St and Maple St for construction work. N Maple St between College St and Burton St and W Lytle St between N Maple St and N Walnut St will be closed to traffic for three weeks. Access to local businesses will be kept open at all times. Message boards and appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Rutherford County Judicial Center Project (between Burton St and Lytle St)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday, July 20, 2016 - Friday, March 31, 2017: As part of the Rutherford County Judicial Center construction, Burton St between Maple St and Church St will be closed to traffic to make roadway improvements. Burton St traffic will be detoured onto Lytle St. There will be traffic interruptions and minor lane closures at the intersection of Maple St and Burton for steel and equipment deliveries. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E Main St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd has been shifted to the east side and reduced to two-lanes two-way between E Main St and Greenland Dr. E Lytle St is closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd. The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd is only open to local traffic. On Tuesday, October 18, 8:00 pm to 3:00 am, City Water and Sewer Department will be installing a water line across Middle Tennessee Blvd near E Main St. Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd will be reduced to one lane flagging operation. Appropriate traffic control signs and message boards will be in place.

Sewer Pump Station Project (NW Broad St at Battlefield Pkwy)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 5 pm: Contractor for Water & Sewer Department will be installing sewer lines within TDOT right-of-way/Battlefield Pkwy. A small section of Battlefield Pkwy is closed. Underground bore work continues. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Maple Street Alley Reconstruction Project (between W Main St and W Vine St)

Expected Lane Closures: Sunday, October 16, 6 am to Noon: W Main St between Walnut St and Maple St (Public Square) will be closed to traffic for electrical construction work. Eastbound traffic on W Main St will be detoured around the public square onto Walnut St, Vine St and Church St. Traffic detour signs and appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Private Development Electric and Water Line Work (Warrior Dr just west of New Salem Hwy)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:30 pm: Construction crews will be installing electrical and water lines along on Warrior Dr just west of New Salem Hwy. Traffic on Warrior Dr will be reduced to one lane flagging operation. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

City Transportation Department Traffic Signal Installation Work (Veterans Pkwy at Barfield Rd)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4 pm: City Traffic Signal Contractor will be installing a new traffic signal at the intersection of Veterans Pkwy at Barfield Rd. Overhead and underground utility work continues. There will be traffic interruptions and minor lane closures at the intersection. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.
