Ram's Traffic Jam Areas to Avoid

(Murfreesboro) It's the time of the year when crews ramp-up work on construction projects, and Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran warns motorists of areas to avoid traffic jams now through July 28th.

Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E. Main St) (Est Substantial Completion August 2018)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd is reduced to two-lanes two-way between Bell St and Greenland Dr. E Lytle St is closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd. The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd is only open to local traffic. Median construction and traffic signal work continues between Bell St and Greenland Dr. Faulkinberry Dr will be completely closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd. East side of Bell St will also be closed for construction work. There will be traffic shifts and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic control will be in place.

W Lytle Street Roadway Improvement Project (Baker St to Church St) (Est Substantial Completion August 2018)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: W Lytle St will be closed between the roundabout and Barker St. Traffic will be detoured onto W College St. Front St is closed between W Lytle St and W College St. Access driveways to local businesses will be kept open. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Traffic Signal Work (Old Nashville Hwy at Florence Road)

Expected Lane Closures: Saturday, July 21, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm: City Traffic Signal Contractor will be installing left turn signals at the intersection of Old Nashville Hwy and Florence Rd. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Turn Lane & Signalization Improvement Project (Rutherford Blvd at Haven Dr)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Wednesday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm: Contractor of a private development will be making turn lane and signalization improvements on Rutherford Blvd at Haven Dr. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions during the milling process. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Murfreesboro Electric Department Power Pole Replacement (S Spring St between E Main St and E Vine St)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm: Murfreesboro Electrical Department Crews will be removing and replacing a power pole on S Spring St just south of E Main St. Appropriate detour signs and traffic controls will be in place.

Crown Castle Fiber Project (NW Broad St at Medical Center Pkwy)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday, 8:30 pm to 6:00 am: There will be lane closures at the intersection of NW Broad St and Medical Center Pkwy for fiber installation work. Appropriate traffic control will be in place.
