The rape allegedly took place in a rural wooded area in Rutherford County, according to the 38 year old victim.

Murfreesboro Police got word of the alleged rape when she contacted the authorities and told them that a Hispanic male in a blue car, possibly a Nissan, picked her up at JD's Market at the intersection of Vine Street and Maney Avenue. The woman told police the man then took her to a wooded area where he punched her in the face and raped her.

The victim was transported by ambulance to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital where detectives met with the victim to further investigate the case. The victim said that she did not know who the man was, but that she went with him because she needed a ride.

The rape is under investigation and no arrests have been made.
